The BitCtrl Systems GmbH is member of the OPC Foundation since 1. December 2015.

The OPC Foundation: The Interoperability Standard for Industrial Automation™ is a worldwide organisation for technology users, vendors and consortia that cooperate to reate new data transfer standards for interoperability in terms of multi platform, security and reliability for industrial automation.

The "Industrie 4.0" platform proposes the OPC UA (IEC 62541) standard as norm for the "communication layer" category for the reference architecture model in "Industrie 4.0 (RAMI)".
